Once Mindel, Scott & Associates, Inc. grew to the point where more space was needed, David Mindel and Steve Scott bought a plot of land near Fern Valley Road in Louisville, Kentucky, and designed their own office to accomodate a greater workforce and workload.
Amanda Smith & Kent Gootee Purchase Mindel Scott
After 27 years of leading the company, David Mindel and Steve Scott transitioned ownership of Mindel Scott as part of a thoughtful succession plan. In 2021, Amanda Smith and Kent Gootee purchased the company, continuing its legacy and transforming it into a certified woman-owned business.

In 2025, both David Mindel and Steve Scott decided to hang their hardhats up and retire from Mindel Scott after decades of service to their community. The legacy they've left behind is one of excellence and dedication, and their hard work and perseverance continues to inspire us to be the best we can be.

After working together over the years on various projects, David Mindel and Steve Scott branched out to create their own firm in September of 1994, Mindel, Scott & Associates, Inc., to bring their expertise of civil engineering to the Kentuckiana region.
