Kent earned his Associate of Science in Architectural Technology from the Bluegrass Community & Technical College and his Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of Kentucky. Before making his home at Mindel Scott as a Landscape Architect & Project Manager, he worked as a Landscape Architect and Project Manager for Sabak, Wilson & Lingo, Inc. in Louisville. Kent has since served as the Director of Planning and Landscape Architecture and now as the Vice President and a Principal at Mindel Scott.

Mindel Scott is based on a team atmosphere that requires all departments and employees to work together, and Kent loves that. For Kent, it’s exciting to see the development and building of projects as simple as adding a playground for an elementary school to developing an underutilized piece of ground into multi-million dollar business park. Completing projects and knowing that his team had a vital role in planning and engineering the community fosters a lot of pride in Kent. He enjoys his role because he’s able to help everyone in his department with project design, agency coordination and meeting client needs, as well as helping the work progression between all departments at Mindel Scott.

Kent is a current Member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and was Member at Large for the Kentucky Society of Landscape Architects Executive Committee from 1998 -1999 and 2001 -2002. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Rails to Trails Council, Inc. from 1995 – 1997.
