David A. Mindel, PE, PLS

David’s journey started when he earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Louisville. He spent 15 years as PE at Sabak and Wilson, the last 9 of which was spent as Chief Engineer. He has served as Principal for Mindel Scott from 1994 to 2021.

David brings experience in residential, multi-family, commercial, retail and municipal engineering design to Mindel Scott. David’s a seasoned pro at obtaining zoning approval of sites anywhere from 1 acre to 500 acres, which includes working with agencies, utilities, neighbors and neighborhoods, staff of planning and zoning, planning commission members and attorneys. The process of seeing a development when it is just an idea in a developer’s mind through to working with the neighbors, agencies and governmental review agencies for a successful approval is what makes David tick. He likes starting the design process and seeing it every step through to the construction of the development. Working with and developing the employees at Mindel Scott in every department and seeing them grow every year into better workers, with improved skills and talents, is rewarding for him.

If you’re thinking of playing Fantasy Baseball, you should go into it knowing that you probably won’t beat David – he’s had a team for the last 15 years. David enjoys spending time with his family and loves watching college basketball and football. Like any sports fan would, he follows the Louisville Cardinals. He enjoys family trips and hiking with his kids and grandchildren. David has always enjoyed playing war and card games with his late Father-in-law, and now he gets to play the same games with his grandchildren.
