Storm Drainage

Critical portions of the drainage system are typically the first components of a project to be constructed as they control both storm runoff and soil erosion during construction.  MSA's Engineers are highly experienced in drainage system and detention analysis and design, and utilize powerful software, including: PondPak, HEC-1, HEC-2, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, FlowMaster, CulvertMaster, and SurvCADD.

Potable Water & Fire Protection

MSA prepares water distribution plans for public and private sector clients in the North Central Kentucky area.  The firm is pre-qualified by the Louisville Water Company .  To date, our Engineers and Technicians have designed and obtained approvals on over 175,000 lineal feet of public water lines in Jefferson County.  MSA staff have also designed approximately 75,000 lineal feet of public and private water lines in Bullitt, Oldham, and Shelby Counties in Kentucky.  MSA coordinated with the West Shelby Water District to provide service to the Cardinal Club in Simpsonville.

MSA’s unparalleled service takes you from design through agency approvals from design through agency approvals.  We have experience in obtaining Division of Water approvals from the Drinking Water Branch and familiar with the numerous Fire Protection Districts in the Louisville Metro area.  Through continuous communication with these districts, we are able to meet both your needs and theirs.

MSA specializes in providing gravity wastewater collector systems to new and existing developments, ranging from residential to industrial properties and municipal extensions and upgrades.  We have extensive experience in designing both large and small sanitary lift stations, obtaining Division of Water Sanitary Permits, stream crossing permits, and Water Quality certifications.

Coordination of Gas, Electric, and Telecommunications Utilities

MSA acts as your personal utility consultant by coordinating design, easement, and construction issues on all projects.  Our Utilities Designers have over 50 years’ combined experience in design, coordination, and construction supervision of electric facilities, providing them with the expertise needed to oversee coordination of gas, water, electricity, telephone, and cable.  MSA engineers have valuable experience coordinating field locates and designing sanitary sewer, water, and drainage crossings in high-pressure mainline gas easements.  We have the expertise to develop comprehensive utility plans for complex developments.
