Spca Volunteer Requirements

Accredited volunteers have access to our online platform where they can view available opportunities, register for shifts and track their hours. Unless otherwise stated, voluntary shift days and hours are fixed and cannot be postponed. Volunteers also receive a weekly e-newsletter with updates and information on volunteer activities. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. We require a commitment of four hours of voluntary service per month for at least six months. The Tulsa SPCA has minimum requirements for our volunteer program to ensure that all volunteers are a good fit for our organization and to ensure that we provide the best volunteer experience possible. We strive to offer a comprehensive training program to ensure our volunteers feel safe and adequately prepared for their work with us and our animals. Shelter Storage: This voluntary opportunity helps pet care staff by keeping the shelter clean. This could be done by sweeping sweeping, mop, organizing, or other things that shelter staff need help with.

Vaccination clinic assistance: This volunteer opportunity will assist clients during immunization clinic days, organize patients, tidy them and anything else clinic staff may need. The volunteer must follow a basic orientation and a clinical orientation. Kennel Cleaning: This volunteer opportunity helps our pet care staff by helping with dishes, laundry, kennel cleaning and/or feeding. Richmond SPCA volunteers must commit to serving four hours per month for a period of four months. To stay active after the four months, you need to do at least one shift every three months. If you do not meet these requirements, the account will be deactivated and, to resume volunteering, you will need to start the application process all over again. Clinic Cleaning – This voluntary opportunity will help keep the clinic reception and lobby clean. This can be done by sweeping or cleaning or other things that clinic staff need help with (in unrestricted areas).

Please note that court-ordered community service or Polk hours of work are NOT part of the volunteer program. We do not currently offer hours for court-ordered community service or Polk Works. Volunteering with the Second Chance SPCA is a rewarding experience, but it`s also a challenging role and should be taken seriously.
