JAG Corps The Indiana National Guard Office of the Staff Judge Advocate actively recruits members of the military to join the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps. The JAG Corps offers young lawyers an excellent opportunity to learn about different areas of law and get involved in a wide range of cases. Judge advocates may act as prosecutors in criminal cases (courts martial) or as legal counsel to provide advice and guidance to soldiers, retirees and their families. This allows you to gather all the necessary information in advance to avoid unforeseen delays because the required information is not available. The judge advocate provides preventive justice and legal assistance. Please visit the Air Force Legal Aid website for legal information and an online tool that allows you to provide our firm with the information you need to prepare your will or power of attorney. Will and Power of Attorney forms can be found under the “Legal Worksheets” tab. Once you have completed the worksheet, please call our office with your ticket number to plan a will. The Indiana National Guard Judge`s Office of Staff Judge Advocate (OSJA) serves as legal advisor to the command, advising on various matters. OSJA also provides litigation defense and free legal assistance to Indiana Guards. The OSJA is also commonly referred to as JAG (Judge Advocate General). Officers serving in the JAG Corps are often referred to as JAGs. The Indiana OSJA offices are located at Stout Field headquarters in Indianapolis.
